Service Agreement
This agreement constitutes permission to enter the above address and perform duties outlined in the Client and relevant Pet Information Sheet, Service Agreement, Veterinarian Release, and Key Handling Agreement.
Pet & Plant Pal and its employees agree to provide services in a reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition, the client expressly waives all claims against Pet & Plant Pal or its employees, unless arising from gross negligence on the part of Pet & Plant Pal. Client agrees to notify Pet & Plant Pal of any concerns within 24 hours of returning home.
Any changes to this agreement must be done in writing, or they will be null and void. Pet & plant Pal has the right to make any changes to this agreement at will and without notice. With any changes, a new agreement will be presented before any new services are rendered.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES
RATES & FEES
All of our rates and fees can be accessed through our website. You will receive an invoice for each service request.
PAYMENT
Pet & Plant Pal accepts payment via credit card through our secure merchant account. For your convenience, we keep a credit card on file.
PAYMENT PROCESS
We will email you a detailed service order for your review. You can then let us know of any changes. Your card will be charged approximately 2 to 4 business days before the start of your service order. If other unforeseen visits or costs (such as food, supplies, vet visits), an invoice will be emailed to you, and your card will be processed for reimbursement of those charges.
REFUNDS
We do not provide refunds but use the remaining amount as a credit balance on your account for future pet care needs.
OFFICE HOURS
Our regular office hours are 9-5, M-F. The office is closed on weekends and all Federal holidays. Calls are monitored for emergencies when the office is closed. All other calls are returned during regular business hours.
VISIT HOURS
Morning visits occur between the hours of 8am -11am. Evening visits occur between 5pm-8pm. Mid-Day Walks occur between 11am-2pm. Cats are always visited a minimum of every 24 hours and dogs every 12 hours.
SERVICE REQUESTS
To request services, you may use our online scheduling system, send us an email or call the office at (502)-286-9093. Messages left are NOT considered confirmations. Your service request is only confirmed when you have received a confirmation via email.
LAST MINUTE SERVICE
We understand that last-minute emergencies happen, and our goal is to help you during these times. However, do not assume your request has been received and processed until you have received a confirmation email. An additional fee of $10.00 will be applied for any service request made with less than a 12-hour notice.
CANCELLATION POLICY
This policy is in force as a reminder that your pet sitter's time is valuable to you as well as to other clients. Reservations should be made in good faith so that your pet sitter can schedule and provide the best and most efficient service possible for all. However, we understand that emergencies and special circumstances occur, and we will consider those for credit. You will be charged for all visits without proper notice of cancellation.
Dog Walking and Drop-ins: 24 hours notice of cancellation
Pet Sitting: 48 hours notice of cancellation
JOB SHARING
Job sharing is not covered under our insurance. Pet & Plant Pal cannot be responsible for your pet(s) or home if another service provider, friend, or family member enters your property while we are not there. If another party is entering the house, we will need the dates and times expected. If we arrive at your home and there is an unexpected person in your home, we will leave the premises and report our findings to the local authorities.
UNSECURED PETS
Pet& Plant Pal or its employees shall not be held responsible for pets that bite, suffer an accidental death, or escape from faulty fencing or from inside the home due to faulty screens, doors, etc., including pets with doggie doors and outdoor pets. Pet & Plant Pal reserves the right to move an outdoor pet to shelter in the event of extreme temperatures/weather. Pet & Plant Pal is not responsible for damages/costs involved with this move. Pet & Plant Pal shall not be held responsible for any complications pets may suffer or actions of pets while they are unattended.
SECURED AREAS
All pets with electronic fences must wear their collars with fresh batteries. Pet & Plant Pal is not responsible for any animals that get out or inside of the perimeter. It is the pet owner's sole responsibility to pet-proof any home and property areas to which the pet has access. Pet & Plant Pal does not assume and has no liability for any injuries the pet may sustain while in its own home.
PET CARE
Pet & Plant Pal will not sit for acutely ill animals or those with uncontrolled medical conditions. We suggest boarding the pet with a vet.
Pet & Plant Pal does not accept aggressive animals. The client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including, but not limited to, medical care, attorney fees, etc.) if the client's pet should bite another person or animal.
Pet & Plant Pal will not walk unruly or untrained dogs or dogs that choke themselves on their leash. All pets must be walked on a leash, with no exceptions.
Pet & Plant Pal does not diagnose, prognose, or make therapy decisions, nor does it offer veterinary services. Any veterinary/medical concerns will be referred to a veterinarian.
SAFE ACCESS
The pet owner's responsibility is to provide safe access to their home, shoveling their sidewalks, steps, and porch.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Pet & Plant Pal reserves the right to adjust the thermostat, turn the air conditioner on/off, etc., if our sitters feel the climate is posing a health risk to your pet(s) in our care.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Pet & Plant Pal will not, at any time, either directly or indirectly, use any information for our benefit, disclose, or communicate, in any manner, any information to any third party. By signing below, the client fully understands and agrees to the contents of this service agreement and policies & procedures:

**Pet and Plant Pal Key Handling Policy **
This Addendum to the Pet and Plant Pal Key Handling
**WHEREAS**, the Service Provider provides pet and plant care services which require access to the Client's home;
**WHEREAS**, the Client and Service Provider agree that having multiple methods of entry into the home is crucial for the safety and well-being of the pets and plants under the Service Provider’s care;
**NOW, THEREFORE**, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. **Multiple Methods of Entry**
- The Client agrees to provide the Service Provider with at least two (2) different methods of entry into the home. These methods may include, but are not limited to, a set of keys, a garage code, a security code, or any other reasonable method agreed upon by both parties.
- The Client agrees to provide the Service Provider with keys to all locks on the doors that the Service Provider may need to access during the provision of services.
2. **Responsibility for Lockouts**
- The Service Provider shall not be held responsible for lockouts unless there is a failure with all provided methods of entry. Such failure must be a direct result of the Service Provider’s negligence.
- In the event of a lockout due to the failure of all provided methods of entry, including situations where all locks on the doors are locked and the Service Provider does not have keys for all locks, the Client shall be responsible for any costs associated with gaining entry to the home, including locksmith services.
3. **Client's Responsibility**
- The Client agrees to ensure that all provided methods of entry are functional and accessible at all times during the term of the service agreement.
- The Client agrees to promptly notify the Service Provider of any changes to the methods of entry, including changes to codes or replacement of locks.
- The Client agrees to ensure that the Service Provider has keys to all locks on doors that need to be accessed during the provision of services.
4. **Limitation of Liability**
- The Service Provider shall not be liable for any damages or losses resulting from the inability to gain entry to the home due to the failure of all provided methods of entry, except where such failure is a direct result of the Service Provider’s negligence.
5. **Governing Law**
- This Addendum shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kentucky.
